Hi. I'm Jacqui. I love words, dancing, and the beach. I care about peace, social justice, compassionate healthcare, your kids, my kids, and other human beings.
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1998 and the MFA program at Antioch University, Los Angeles in 2011.
As a freelance writer, I help mission-driven organizations create communications that tell their stories and raise funds for their work. I would love to help with your brochure, website, grant proposal, appeal letter, or other communications need. My work in recent years has included projects with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences), Merrimack College (Development Office), Harvard University (FAS Development Office), Hackley School (Admissions), BU School of Public Health (Center for Advancing Health Policy and Practice), and Riverbend School (Marketing).
I am also a practicing birth doula and have an extreme love for families of every kind. I am committed to providing full spectrum doula support, and will respect every choice you make as a pregnant person, during labor and delivery, and postpartum.
If you are experiencing a loss and need a hug or someone to talk to, please contact me. If you are terminating a pregnancy and need a hand to hold or someone to talk to, please contact me. If you have a tiny screaming baby and you are just desperate for sleep, please contact me.
In 2015, I created Holding Our Space, a kind of pop up support community and Tumblr page. I'm interested in turning grief into beauty, and making safe space in our day-to-day world for the stories and emotions that pass through our lives.
I am honored to facilitate Writing & Meditation at Brookline Adult & Community Education and work with women individually and in groups writing their experiences.
